Glenn has wide experience in technical writing, training and documentation. He can also help you with Web Page design, especially building logical and useful hypertext links. Glenn has:

  • Developed a user documentation standard for the WorkCover Authority of NSW, and then developed a 200 page user manual for one of the Authority’s major computer systems
  • Prepared the first edition of the Australian guide to interlibrary loan and document delivery (Canberra: ACLIS, 1993. ISBN 1875351116), and subsequently prepared a major revision of the Australian Interlibrary Loan Code
  • Written and published Introducing Ausmarc (Sydney: Sanders Information Management Services, 1984, reprinted with revisions, 1985 ISBN 0959022805), a workbook for librarians which has been recommended reading at several universities
  • Written database quality and data entry standards manuals for CAVAL Limited, a consortium of Academic libraries and the State Library in Victoria
  • Developed, as one of a team of three, a training package for library technicians in the Australian Public Service. This package replaced a one year, part time examination course previously offered by the Library Association.
  • Implemented over 60 major computer systems in libraries or records management sections, including database design, conversion of data from old systems, staff training, and the integration of workflows, procedures and documentation with the new systems
  • Developed records management procedure manuals or guidelines as part of strategic studies and implementation projects for
    • The Legal Aid Commission of NSW
    • The Office of the Director of Equal Opportunity in Public Employment (NSW Premier’s Department)
    • The Australian Securities Commission
  • Prepared The Logical design of online public access catalogues (OPACs): functional requirements and terminology (Sydney: OLC, 1987. ISBN 0949443077) for the Office of Library Cooperation, a consortium of the Academic libraries and the State Library in New South Wales
  • Developed and presented a series of one day seminars on library computerisation for the Australian Library and Information Association. These seminars were repeated throughout Australia.
  • Developed and presented a business continuity planning workshop for five state branches of the RMAA
  • Provided software development consultancy services for three commercial software systems for libraries and records management, and was software development manager for two other systems
